THE MONITOR GROUP ENABLES VIRTUAL
ENTERPRISE OFFICES WORLDWIDE WITH MERU’S WIRELESS LAN SYSTEM
Leading Consulting Firm Delivers Seamless, Secure, Wireless
Connectivity for Employees around the Globe
Sunnyvale, CA — May 16, 2006
Meru Networks, the global innovation leader in wireless
infrastructure for the All-Wireless Enterprise, today announced
that The Monitor Group, a global family of professional services
firms, has deployed Meru’s Wireless LAN System to bring wireless
LAN flexibility to the firm’s 1500 employees worldwide. Using
the Meru solution, Monitor’s team of mobile workers now have
secure and reliable wireless access to the Internet, email and a
host of data applications critical to performing their jobs,
from anywhere within Monitor’s 28 global locations.
In selecting a wireless LAN solution, Monitor’s IT department
wanted a system that was extremely secure, easy to deploy and
manage, and could grow with their network, as they add more
users and increase network density. Furthermore, Monitor wanted
a WLAN solution that could address their current needs, as well
as their future plans to add multiple data applications and
wireless VoIP.
After an extensive evaluation, The Monitor Group determined that
Meru’s WLAN System was the best solution to address both the
firm’s current and future needs. The Meru WLAN System’s patented
Air Traffic Control technology enables coordinated, widespread
coverage with a single channel, eliminating the need for complex
RF planning and site surveys and thereby, greatly simplifying
deployment for Monitor’s IT group. The innovative Air Traffic
Control technology also ensures that as Monitor adds users to
the network and density increases, they can add capacity simply
by layering additional channels across the same coverage zone.
The result is fewer total access points reducing deployment and
operational costs and substantially easing the management
burden.
“We evaluated several wireless LAN products, but when we saw
Meru’s demonstration, our decision was easy,” said James Pierce,
Chief Information Officer, The Monitor Group. “We were able to
configure and deploy the system, with consistent security and
access policies, in a matter of minutes, to address the
challenges of our particular environment and the needs of our
mobile workers.” He added, “The combination of simple deployment
and management, the unique, single channel approach and Meru’s
ability to handle multiple data applications, as well as voice,
to meet our future needs, convinced us that Meru was the only
WLAN solution that made sense.”
“The Monitor Group is a perfect example of how global
enterprises can gain tremendous productivity benefits by
implementing the right wireless LAN solution,” said Kamal Anand,
senior vice president of international sales and corporate
strategy, Meru Networks. “Leveraging our unique ability to
deliver reliable, pervasive coverage without complex network
configuration and management schemes, The Monitor Group can give
its employees secure and consistent access to the applications
they need, from any location.”
