Matisse Networks to Deliver Keynote Speech at 2007 International Workshop on Optical Burst Switching

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, August 28, 2007—Matisse Networks, the leader in optical burst switching , today announced that it will deliver the keynote presentation at the 2007 International Workshop on Optical Burst Switching (WOBS) at the Millennium Hotel in Durham, North Carolina, September 10, 2007. WOBS is a full day workshop leading off the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers’ (IEEE) BROADnets conference held the week of September 10-14.

Since 2003, the International Workshop on Optical Burst Switching serves as the premier forum for researchers from academia, industry and government to meet, exchange ideas, and discuss the technical and commercial challenges associated with burst-switched and packet-switched optical networks.

Mr. Claude Hamou, co-founder and chief operating officer at Matisse, will lead a discussion on reliable optical burst scheduling and traffic engineering. His keynote will discuss challenges overcome by Matisse Networks over the course of developing EtherBurst™ - the world’s first commercially available optical burst switch.

“We’re honored to once again address such a distinguished audience,” said Hamou. “The International Workshop on Optical Burst Switching has been a leading venue exploring advances of this disruptive technology.”
At last year’s 2006 WOBS, Mr. Oded Mor, Matisse Networks’ director of optical engineering, delivered a keynote presentation unveiling the EtherBurst optical switch.
